(판례1:2005년도에는 2003년도부터 시작된 10개의 기소가 증거 불충분으로 종결되었다.) 그를 고소했던 조단 챈들러(당시 13세)는 마이클 잭슨이 사망한 후, 이 모든 것은 아버지가 돈을 바라고 꾸민 짓이었다고 고백했다.   2009년 7월 8일부터 2010년 2월 24일까지 영국 런던 O2 아레나 등에서 콘서트 'This Is It'를 공연할 예정이었으나, 2009년 6월 25일(당시 만50세)에 심장마비로 사망하였다. 2009년 7월 7일, 로스엔젤레스 스테이플스 센터에서 장례식이 열렸다. 특히 이 날 장례식장에는 마이클 잭슨의 딸 캐서린 잭슨이 처음으로 대중 앞에 모습을 드러냈다.   <출처: 한국어 위키백과>
